Practice is cancelled because our field is closed. Get a run in and see you Thursday.
On Saturday, Western Suburbs D3 took on Washington Irish. The pitch was soggy, but the rain had cleared in time for the D3 game. The forwards on both sides got a good workout as they fought to obtain and maintain possession of the ball. In the end, Washington Irish went down in defeat, 21-17. In this tight match, Erich Weiss demonstrated his golden boot multiple times and earning him the Man of the Match award. Bryant Cruzado earned Hardest Worker
The D4 game kicked off at 11 AM against Pax River. Pax played well as a unit and Suburbs was unable to match their play. That being said, there were several highlights worth noting. Enrique "Q" Degenhart, an evasive runner, showed a new skill in this game. He charged straight at the tackler, ran them over and kept going. After missing a few games due to family matters, John "Hitman" Stafford returned to the pitch fresh and clearly in the mood to hit as he was regularly harassing the opposition all over the field. Colin McClain, who we welcomed to the club earlier this year, invited Lou Huggins to join Suburbs just this past week. It's a good thing too as Lou Huggins' speed and tackling earned him the D4 Man of the Match award. While our D3 schedule for the fall is complete, our D4 side is taking on Prince William County this Saturday in Triangle; please join us for this game. Details are on here. |
