Today, Western Suburbs will hold practice from 10 to 11:30 at South Lakes Drive Park. After practice, we will go to Bad Wolf Brewery to remember the life of club member, Johnny Johnson. Pictures below from Practice on August 20.

Practices start tonight at Poplar Tree Park, Field 1 at 8 pm. The address is 4718 Stringfellow Road, Chantilly, VA. There will be a team meeting at 7 pm to elect field officers and go over plans for the season.
Western Suburbs welcomes all players so if you just watched Olympic rugby in Rio or are a seasoned veteran looking for a fun club and good rugby, we would be happy to have you join our team. Boo Daddy. Our annual 7s harlotfest is this Saturday, 8/6. Register via the website or in person at the event. Please arrive by 7:00 AM to help setup. Registration closes at 10:00 AM and the first kickoff is 10:30 AM. Even if you aren’t playing, this is a mandatory club event. A few extra pop up tents / canopies are needed. Reply to this email if you have one the club can use for the day. This is Kelly Watkins’ 5th and final year organizing the Boo Daddy. He’s done a fantastic job making it the kind of event players will drive hours to attend every year. Please join me in thanking Kelly for everything he’s done in bringing this tournament back! The next Boo Daddy tournament director has big shoes to fill! THANK YOU KELLY! Regular Meeting and First Practice for the Fall Season. The first formal fall practice is on Thursday, 8/11, at Poplar Tree. Per Article III, Section 3.01 of the bylaws, a Regular Meeting shall be held at the beginning of the fall season. During this meeting, club members will elect Western Suburbs coaches, D3 captain, selector, second side captain, and second side co-captain. If you are interested in being a candidate for any of these positions, please reply to the email or let one of the club officers know. To vote, club members must have already paid dues or have pre-arranged a payment schedule with club Treasurer, Erich Weiss. A list of candidates will be sent out prior to the meeting. Please arrive by 7:00 PM so we can start on time. In addition to practices resuming on Tuesdays/Thursdays, we will also have practice on Saturday, 8/13 and Saturday, 8/20 (start time for Sat practices will be sent out soon). 40th Anniversary. 2016 marks the club’s 40th anniversary! There will be a 40th anniversary celebration on Saturday, October 8th, 7:00 pm at the M&S Grill in Reston. More details will be forthcoming later this month.
