Kyle "Gimli" Jackson earned Man of the Match and Alex "Night Night" Menjivar took Hardest Worker from Saturday's match against Chambersburg.
As it is October, let's discuss Saturday's game in terms of horror movies. Jason of Friday the 13th is not the fastest, smartest, or most supernaturally-gifted of the horror movie bad guys, but he does have one quality that has helped him stymie many of his foes and that we could have used on Saturday. Jason doesn't stop. He sticks to his plan of hacking you up with his trusty machete. Suburbs had a solid lead going into the half, but, unlike Jason, we let our opposition get us off of our plan. At the final, Western Suburbs took 29-40 loss, but just as it is never over for Jason, we should get up and keep moving forward. Ch-ch-ch-ch... Western Suburbs will be facing off against the Chambersburg Turtleheads at 1 PM at South Lakes Drive Park. The address to the park is 11951 South Lakes Drive, Reston, Virginia. The forecast is calling for mostly sunny and 56 degrees so it should be fabulous for rugby so please join us at the game and the pub.
The post-game social will be held after the game at O'Sullivan's Irish Pub located at 754 Elden Street in Herndon, Virginia. It was wet and wonderful on Saturday as D4 faced off against Washington Renegades at Gallaudet University. Renegades struck first with a try, but Suburbs responded quickly. The game was tied for the majority of the game with both sides marching up and down the field, but not converting those campaigns into tries. In the 79th minute, Renegades won their scrum and got it to their backs who were able to convert it into a try for a 5-12 final.
