Danta "D" Moore and Matt "Lobo" Parr have an exciting summer of 7s planned. The first practice of the 7s season saw 24 players out, two of them were new to the club. The first tournament will be Monk Vaughan's in Richmond on May 31. After that the club will be at the Pick 7s Tournament in DC and the Slug 7s in Columbia, MD. From there, there is a tournament in Chapel Hill, NC on July 26th and then we have our club's Boo Daddy's 7s Harlotfest on August 2.
7s practices will be held at 8 PM at Poplar Tree Park, Field 1 on Tuesdays and Thursdays throughout the summer unless there is a field closure or practice is cancelled.
The 7s jerseys are expected to arrive on May 29 so you'll be able to show off your guns at Monk Vaughan's
7s Practice Schedule
Practices will be held at 8 PM at Poplar Tree Park until further notice.
The field status is updated daily at 3 PM here. If Poplar Tree Park is closed, then we will have practice at Panzer Pitch at 6 PM.
Thinking about playing rugby?
Great! Rugby is an excellent sport with a long tradition. You'll have a great time on and off the pitch with our club. Why should you play with us? Well, you will have fun, learn rugby, and improve your fitness. Most of our games are local so that means that you won't be spending several hours in the car on Saturdays. Instead, you'll be playing rugby and having fun with the club. If you're in, simply email us at WesternSuburbsRFC@gmail.com
In April, May, Zimba, OD, Ponch, Chemo, Beaker, Abdul Hadi, Erich, and Cajun Matty celebrated their birthdays.
In June, Rob, Dum Dum, Tony, Blue, Liam, Bevilacqua, and Squirtle will be celebrating their birthdays.
When you see these ruggers next, wish them well, buy them a beer or a shot and give them a reason to appreciate going around the sun one more time.
