David Christian, WSRFC 2017
Name: David Christian
Occupation: Software Implementation Manager
Dream Job: Defender of Gotham, that Ben Affleck guy isn't even the best Affleck
Nickname: Gypsy/Lil Dicky
How long have you played with Suburbs: I have played with the Suburbs since January.
Which team do you look forward to playing: I would love another crack at the Renegades.
Favorite Beer: Nothing like a good Bud Heavy after a rugby game. I will go with Dogfish beers for a classy affair.
Favorite Suburbs Memory: The win against Baltimore Chesapeake was pretty great. Felt like the whole team was in sync that game.
Who has most impacted your rugby career: Coach Andy Richards at Virginia Tech. I was a track athlete in HS and tore my hamstring senior year. He saw the crossover between my background and what he wanted to accomplish with the VT rugby sevens team and the rest is history.
What do you love most about Suburbs: I love the team atmosphere. I am new to the team and it is a very welcoming group of guys. We also have just the right number of gingers; not so many that you feel uncomfortable, but just enough to ensure sunscreen is brought to every game.

It was a beautiful day for rugby. The air was crisp and the sky was clear. Western Suburbs began the game with intensity that earned them a try early in the match. Baltimore Chesapeake countered with a try of their own shortly thereafter. After that, Western Suburbs settled in controlling the game and the scoreboard. In the second half, Baltimore Chesapeake increased their intensity on the pitch, but Suburbs did not break. At the final, Baltimore Chesapeake fell in defeat 31-12.

As for the honors, Man of the Match was awarded to Tim Bultemeier and Hardest Worker was awarded to Nate Hart.
