I just wanted to take a moment and clarify the proposed (and now accepted) addition of a B-side Merit table to the schedule for Fall 2003.

This in no way affects your Div III Reds team - congratulations to you on your play-off wins by the way.

The second match that your Div II team plays is defined as the B-side game for this league and may well be a mix of your B-side and a few A-side guys getting a second match. The feeling at Frederick was that these players miss out a little on the competitive aspect of league play so we wanted to have the carrot of playing for a title (and cup). This is complimentary to the existing structure and is just a cool extra.

We are also going to add a PRU Cup tournament that will pit the 5 Div II PRU teams plus 3 PRU Div III teams (maybe your Reds could be one of them) over a weekend in November. The idea is to get more of a PRU identity, give the PRU All-Star coaches a chance to scout all the Div II and Div III players and give the clubs another piece of hardware to chase (independent of the MARFU league system). In the fall 2003 each Club in our Division (Div II south) will have the opportunity to claim a MARFU play-off spot by doing well in the league, win a B-side Merit Cup by recording the second team in Div II's scores and win the PRU Cup. Should be fun.

In closing all of these additions and proposals have been put out to every club coach (including Scott Delaney at Suburbs) and everyone has been really supportive.
